The Ryman Auditorium

Thursday, May 26th

The Ryman Auditorium was home to the Grand Ole Opry for many years, ending in 1974 when the new building was built. For 20 years, the Ryman stood empty until it was refurbished and is now used for Old-Time Opry tours, Grand Ole Opry events, and other concerts and events.

The Sculpture shows Roy Acuff and Minnie Pearl, two long-time Grand Ole Opry members. The barn is the backdrop for the stage. The pink dress and black suit are clothes that Johnny and June Carter Cash once performed in.

On the way back to the campground, we encountered both a Univ. of Phoenix campus and an Argosy Campus. Since I've been to the UOP campus in San Antonio, we didn't stop there. But, I had never stopped at an Argosy campus, so it was nice to see a brick and mortar version of one of the universities where I teach.
